Overview

This symposium aims to foster a collaborative approach to patient care by examining the complex interplay between psychiatric disorders and other medical conditions. Esteemed experts will lead insightful talks on cardiac psychiatry, the role of sleep medicine, and the challenges of Metabolic Syndrome in psychiatric populations. The program will culminate in a dynamic panel discussion with internal medicine clinicians, providing a platform to discuss integrated care strategies and improve outcomes for patients with complex comorbidities.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Integrate psychological assessment and management strategies into the care of patients with cardiovascular disease;
  2. Formulate a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of insomnia in patients with complex medical histories;
  3. Develop strategies to screen for and mitigate the risk of metabolic syndrome in the psychiatric patient population.
