This activity should enhance skills for all faculty involved in Graduate Medical Education teaching.

1. Explain the SOMs curriculum key features and the importance of active learning in meeting these goals.
2. Define the criteria for educational scholarship
3. Discuss potential topics for educational research at the HMSOM
4. List resources at the HMSOM and sites for publication of educational scholarship

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and Policies of the Medical Society of New Jersey (MSNJ) through the joint providership of Hackensack Meridian Health Network and the HM School of Medicine. Hackensack Meridian Health Network is accredited by the Medical Society of New Jersey to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

NJ Board of Nursing (NJAC 13:37-5.3) states: “A registered professional nurse or licensed practical nurse may obtain continuing education hours from the following: (d)3. Successful completion of continuing medical education courses recognized by the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association or the American Podiatric Medical Association: one hour for each 60 minutes of attendance” therefore, CME credits obtained today may be used in place of nursing contact hours.
